1.5 Hour Introductory Class

In this introductory 1.5-hour experience, you’ll learn the basics of blacksmithing as you shape heated steel with hammer and anvil. Guided by skilled instruction, you’ll discover foundational techniques and experience the rhythm of the forge in a way that’s both approachable and rewarding. Perfect for first-time smiths and curious adventurers alike, this class offers a hands-on taste of the trade without the longer time commitment. 

3 Hour Knife Making Class

In this immersive 3-hour experience, you’ll take raw steel and, through fire and hammer, shape it into a small-handled knife of your own making. Feel the heat, hear the ring of steel, and test your strength as you draw out glowing metal using time-honored techniques. This is hands-on work that demands focus, endurance, and a bit of grit, but every strike brings you closer to something truly your own.

The public demonstrations are open for all festival guests to observe and enjoy.
